This type of installation scheme is the Home Run Scheme. In this scheme the pipe is used to deliver water both hot as well as cold through out the house. In this scheme the main lines are fed into the manifold and the smaller outlets are then used to join the main line with the individual fittings. In most of the cases this main unit is required to be installed in a central place like the basement or the service closet. The third type of the installation scheme is the Remote Manifold Scheme. This scheme is the combination of the above mentioned schemes. It has features of both trunk and branch scheme and the home run scheme. The hot and cold water main pipes are connected to the manifold and have smaller pipes running out from the main pipe for the individual fixtures.
The fourth type of the installation scheme is the Structured Plumbing Scheme. In this scheme the heated water is redistributed to the fixtures in groups and the last scheme is the Modified Home Run scheme.
